We are looking for a proactive and organised Regulatory Support Officer to join our Public Protection service, supporting the Environmental Protection team in a varied and fast-paced role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy working environment, enjoys prioritising competing demands, and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative and field support.
Working as a key member of the team, you will play an important role in managing incoming work, including coordinating and organising team inboxes, triaging enquiries, and gathering essential information to support case assessments. You will often be the first point of contact for customers, ensuring queries are handled professionally and efficiently while supporting the smooth progression of investigations.
The role offers a balance of office-based coordination and practical fieldwork. You will have the opportunity to undertake site visits across a range of locations, supporting Officers, Senior Officers and Principal Officers with investigations and environmental interventions. This includes assisting with areas such as housing (including houses in multiple occupation and caravan sites), statutory nuisance complaints, environmental crime enquiries, and private water supply sampling.
We are seeking someone who is confident working both independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. You will need
- Ability to undertake field visits/investigations across multiple sites if required.
- Information gathering following triage, to include initial customer contact, case assessment and/or review.
