We're looking for a Business Support Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team based in Cirencester.
As part of our Service Support Team, you'll work with colleagues across a range of services including Revenues, Benefits, Licensing and Environmental Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across multiple areas of Publica Group and develop a broad understanding of how local services are delivered.
You'll work with a wide range of colleagues across the organisation, supporting different service areas and helping to ensure essential services run smoothly for our customers and communities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, building relationships and learning new skills. Whether you're an experienced administrator looking for flexible hours or someone looking to build on existing administration or customer service experience, you'll be supported by a welcoming team and given the opportunity to develop your skills across a range of services.
No two days are exactly the same, but you'll spend your time:
- Providing administrative support across a range of Council services
- Responding to customer enquiries by phone, email and in person
- Processing purchase orders and invoices
- Maintaining accurate records and systems
- Directing enquiries to the appropriate teams
- Supporting colleagues with a variety of business support activities
- Helping ensure services run smoothly and efficiently for our communities
This role is 20 hours per week. We can offer flexibility around how these hours are worked, provided they follow a consistent weekly pattern between Monday and Friday. This could include school hours, mornings, afternoons or another agreed pattern that works for both you and the team.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has qualifications equivalent to GCSE Maths and English (or NVQ Level 1)
- Has good administrative and organisational skills
- Communicates confidently and professionally with a range of people
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Can manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Is flexible, adaptable and keen to learn
- Takes pride in delivering excellent customer service
Previous administration or office experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
