Help Shape the Future of Local Public Services
Publica delivers essential services on behalf of local councils, putting people and communities at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a Senior Performance Analyst to join our Business Information, Performance & Improvement team.
If you’re passionate about turning data into insight, influencing decision-makers, and driving real improvement in public services, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
As a Senior Performance Analyst, you’ll play a key role in providing performance assurance and insight to senior leaders, managers, and elected members. You’ll help them understand what’s working well, where improvement is needed, and what “good” looks like across services.
Using your strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and ability to tell a compelling story with data, you’ll support better decision-making and continuous improvement. You’ll work collaboratively across the organisation to design meaningful performance measures, develop new metrics, and ensure decisions are informed by accurate, reliable, and timely information.
This is a hybrid role, with a mix of working from home and from our offices in Cirencester, so you will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance.
The post is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract for maternity cover, or until the postholder returns – whichever is sooner. The working pattern is Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
• Produce clear, insightful performance reports for senior stakeholders and decision-makers
• Develop and refine KPIs, metrics, and benefits measures using robust business data
• Visualise and present complex information in compelling, decision-ready formats
• Work with services to define performance expectations and identify improvement opportunities
• Ensure data quality through effective QA processes and adherence to reporting deadlines
• Apply a range of analytical techniques to deliver proactive, evidence-based recommendations
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy analysing complex information, influencing decisions, and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
You will need
• Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience (typically 5+ years)
• Proven experience working across teams to support service or organisational improvement
• Confidence and resilience when operating in complex or challenging environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data clearly
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines
Interview Date: 18th and 19th February
Special conditions
• A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
• Occasional additional hours may be needed to meet service demands
